RUTH HORNBY
Director
With over 15 years of experience as a specialist paediatric dietitian, I have worked across NHS and freelance settings in leadership, tertiary-specialist roles, and clinical consultancy. My expertise spans neonatal and paediatric nutrition, guiding families and healthcare professionals in managing complex dietary needs with evidence-based, practical solutions.
Beyond clinical practice, I have collaborated with brands to develop healthy meal options for babies and toddlers, authored expert guidelines and articles, and provided specialist training for GPs and healthcare teams. My passion lies in translating the latest nutritional science into realistic, family-friendly strategies that support children’s growth and development.

“As a mother of three, I understand firsthand the challenges of balancing medical advice with everyday family life. My approach is always compassionate, practical, and tailored to each child’s unique needs.”

What parents say

We wanted a dietitian to help with our son, Harry. Harry has sensory problems and would only eat about 5 different foods at the time when we got in touch with Kate. Kate was thorough in her assessment of his diet and advised on what we needed to do to supplement his diet, so he didn’t miss out on any goodness. She also gave us recommendations on ways to encourage Harry to try new foods.
We still have work to do but I already can see a big difference in Harry’s response and willingness to try new foods.
I am also very reassured now that he is getting all the goodness he needs, despite having a limited variety in his diet.
